Craig Hannay
President
Craig Hannay has more than 25 years of experience in commercial real estate. After spending nearly a decade in commercial banking, where he handled defaulted loans and managed foreclosed properties, he led the expansion of the Hannay Family’s real estate business into commercial property investment focusing on industrial, Class A office properties and quality retail centers. Over time, he has further augmented the firm’s expertise into property management, receivership, asset management and lender advisory services. Under Craig’s stewardship, the firm has prospered and become a respected member of the commercial real estate community in the Southwest.
Bruce Backstrom
Senior Vice President
Bruce Backstrom has more than 26 years of commercial real estate experience. As Senior Vice President, Bruce is in charge of Hannay Realty Advisors’ Colorado office. Before joining Hannay, Bruce was the Managing Director of Asset Services for CBRE in Colorado, where he had executive oversight for a staff of over 200 individuals who managed a portfolio of commercial properties in excess of over 26 million square feet. He also spent seven years as Senior Vice President at Trammell Crow Company, where he oversaw the Colorado Asset Services team. Prior to that, he was Senior Real Estate Manager for CBRE, responsible for a portfolio of over two million square feet of office, industrial and retail properties. Bruce’s experience includes receivership responsibilities for distressed properties; his assignments have included office, retail, industrial and medical office buildings.
John Schweikert
Vice President
John Schweikert brings nearly 15 years of commercial real estate experience to Hannay Realty Advisors. His expertise is focused on retail and shopping center assets, with a background in brokerage and development as well. John has worked with a number of leading brokerage firms in the Phoenix market where he handled landlord representation in leasing and pad sales. John has also been involved in the development of nearly 40 community shopping centers in Arizona. His experience covers all areas of operations from site selection to financial analysis to project development.
Reid Bracken
Senior Asset Manager
Reid Bracken is a key senior executive on the Hannay team with 25+ years of experience. He has worked in all phases of property management, brokerage and construction both in the United States and Asia. In 1989, Reid formed his own commercial real estate firm which grew to a million+ square foot portfolio of office retail, multi-family and self-storage properties; his firm also worked with the RTC and lenders instituting receivership, property management and workout plans for properties in distress. During the Asian financial crisis of 1997, his company expanded into the Asia Pacific and assisted a variety of clients with distressed commercial properties.
Paul G. Asher
Director of Property Management
Paul Asher has extensive property and asset management experience in the Phoenix area. He has managed large power centers, opened multi-use developments and managed Class A retail shopping centers. Prior to joining Hannay, he managed a large portfolio of Class A retail shopping centers for Vestar Property Management. At Related Urban Management, Paul opened Phase I of CityNorth in Phoenix’s upscale Desert Ridge community. Most recently, Paul worked for Kitchell Development Company as an Asset Manager heading up the property management department.
Tyler J. Hannay
Asset Manager
Tyler Hannay joined Hannay Realty Advisors as Asset Manager in 2010 after spending four years with CB Richard Ellis in Phoenix. At Hannay Realty Advisors, Tyler Hannay is responsible for overseeing office portfolio operations and leasing across the Western United States for approximately two million square feet of space. He also performs financial analysis and underwriting for owned or managed commercial assets as well as overseeing court-ordered Receivership appointments and takeovers.
Mary C. Hislop
Treasurer
Mary Hislop brings over 30 years of accounting experience to Hannay Realty Advisors. Her expertise is focused on multi-level consolidated financial statements, new entity formation and set up, company mergers, SEC reporting and federal and state tax returns. Currently she handles all areas of accounting for properties owned by the company. Prior to joining Hannay, Mary worked for American Southwest Financial for 18 years and held various leadership positions including Vice President and Treasurer.
Dan Schweikert
Controller
Dan Schweikert has broad experience in the commercial real estate business with emphasis in local brokerage, property management and commercial development. Most recently Dan served as the Chief Accountant for De Rito Partners, Inc., a real estate brokerage and development company. Prior to that time, Dan worked for a Phoenix commercial real estate firm, where he worked with all departments as well as oversaw the accounting of the brokerage division and dozens of retail development projects.
